Black Lantern Firestorm is a reanimated, undead version of the nuclear hero Firestorm from DC Comics. Unlike his living counterpart, which was typically a fusion of Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein, Black Lantern Firestorm represents a corrupted and twisted perversion of that union.
He emerged during the "Blackest Night" event, raised from the dead by a Black Power Ring fueled by the death energy of Nekron. His sole purpose became to extinguish all emotional light in the universe by targeting and consuming the hearts of those with strong emotional connections, particularly other superheroes.
Black Lantern Firestorm retains many of Firestorm's original powers, including transmutation and energy projection, but now utilizes them in service of Nekron's agenda. He serves as a formidable threat, exploiting the vulnerabilities and relationships of his former allies to inflict maximum emotional and physical damage.
Unlike other Black Lanterns, Firestorm presents a unique challenge. His ability to transmute matter allows him to create Black Lantern versions of others, exponentially increasing the size of the Black Lantern Corps and the threat it poses to the living.
